About the rooms and hotel facilities
Q: What types of rooms are available in the hotel and what are the differences between the rooms?
A: We have 7 room categories, including junior suites and studio units with queen and twin bed configurations. All can be booked through our website.
Q: How many people can stay in one room?
A: Normal occupancy is 2 guests per room. However, we have 9 Corner Deluxe rooms with sofa beds and 10 Family & Friends room with 2 Queen beds. Each can accommodate up to 4 guests (2 Adult, 2 Children).
Q: Can I add an air bed in the rooms?
A: Only optional for Corner, Corner Deluxe & Long Loft rooms, and the cost will be HKD 350 + 10% service charge. Kindly be informed that space will be limited.
Q: What is check-in/check-out time?
A: Normal check-in is 2 pm and check-out is 12 pm but we try to meet all our guest requirements. Come early, stay late! Our flexible times are subject to availability.
Q: Do you allow pets in the hotel?
A: Our property does not allow any pets.
Q: Do you have baby cots?
A: We do have baby cots available and are subject to availability upon check-in.
Q: Where and what time do you serve breakfast?
A: Breakfast is served at Komune on 4F from 6:30am to 10:30am daily
Q: How many restaurants and bars do you have and what are they?
A: We have an amazing restaurant and a rooftop bar. Komune (our restaurant) is located on 4F. It serves breakfast daily from 6:30am – 10:30am, followed by delicious bites throughout the day. Komune Above is our rooftop bar located on 23F, which hosts amazing cocktails curated specially by Cocktail Professors served along life DJ performances. Opening hours are Thursdays to Saturdays from 5pm to late, Sundays from 2pm to 10pm. Happy Hour is served daily from 5pm to 8pm, at both Komune and Komune Above.
Q: Is vegetarian and/or special dietary cuisine available in the restaurants?
A: A selection of vegetarian dishes is available and we can cater to near any diet with prior notice.
Q: Do you provide detergents in the self-laundry room?
A: Yes, the detergents are free of charge and the laundry room may be used 24/7
Q: Is there a safety deposit box available at the hotel?
A: There is a safety deposit box in every guest room.
Q: Do you have connecting rooms?
A: We have 18 sets of connecting room, 1 on each floor. To reserve both rooms make your request known during the booking process.
Q: Is my Identification or Passport required at check in?
A: Yes we require either a valid passport or Hong Kong ID for all hotel check-ins.
Q: What is the minimum age requirement to check into a Guestroom?
A: The minimum age is 18.
Q: Do you allow smoking on property or in your Guest Rooms?
A: No smoking in any guestrooms. We have certain public areas where smoking is allowed.
Q: How do I get to Ovolo Southside?
A: It’s easy. Refer to our directions section above! (scroll up ;))
Q: What is the closest MTR station?
A: The nearest MTR station is Wong Chuk Hang Station, only 2 minutes walking distance from the hotel. Take MTR Exit A2 and walk along Heung Yip Road towards Yip Fat Street. Turn left from One Island South and the hotel is located only 100 meters away.
Q: Do you have onsite parking?
A: Yes we have onsite parking available though spaces are limited. Enquire ahead about availability.
Q: How far is the hotel from the downtown shopping areas?
A: You are only 10 minutes away by taxi to the main shopping thoroughfares of Causeway Bay, and 20 minutes to Central district and SOHO.
Q: Are there any bars or restaurants nearby?

Q: How does payment work?
A: We accept credit cards (VISA, Master, Amex, Union Pay), cash and bank transfer. For non-refundable bookings, we require payment in advance. We will charge the given credit card for the full rental once the booking is made. For the regular booking, we will hold the given credit card for 1 night rental as guarantee. The room rental and deposit will be required upon check in.
Q: What if I wish to pay by cash?
A: For non-refundable bookings, please inform hotel in advance that you wish to pay by cash. We will only hold the full amount from the card (not yet charged) until guests settle the full rental upon check in by cash. For regular bookings, we will hold the given credit card for 1 night rental as guarantee. Guest can settle the deposit and rental upon check in by cash.
Q: What if I don’t have credit card, how can I make the booking?
A: If you are in HK, come to the hotel reception directly to make the booking and settle your room rental in person. If you are overseas, credit card details are required. It can be either your own or a 3rd party credit card. Filing our credit card authorization form is required. We can hold the amount (not yet charged), for you to consider settling the rental by overseas wire transfer. After payment is received, we can release the credit card amount back to the given credit card.
Q: Can I shorten my stay after check in?
A: For non-refundable bookings, we reserve the right to charge the full amount in the event a guest checks out early. We are unable to refund the remaining room rental. For regular bookings, guests are required to give 48 hours advanced notice (prior to 2:00 pm HKT) if they wish to shorten their stay at no subsequent charge.
Q: Can I use my friend’s credit card to make a booking?
A: Yes, you can use a 3rd party’s credit card for rental payment. The credit cardholder is required to fill our Credit Card Authorization Form and send scanned copies of the credit card front and back side along with their HKID/passport copy to hotel in order to authorize the charge to the given credit card.
Q: Can I book a room for special event e.g. wedding/ birthday party / photo shoot?
A: Yes. Guests are required to contact hotel directly regarding the special activities and arrangement. Kindly be advised extra charges may apply.
